World of Work prepares our pupils for the next stage in their lives.

First, second and third year pupils organise events, fund raise by making and selling items as well as finding out about the jobs that are done in school and the local area. They also visit the local colleges in preparation for attending them later in their school lives.

Fourth, Fifth and Sixth year pupils concentrate on learning the skills they will need for the world of work.

Fourth year pupils do SQA awards which include spending  a week doing work experience and then  organising and running a café in school which gives them further work experience.

Fifth and sixth year pupils focus on skills for work by doing SQA awards which teach them all about interview skills, writing CV’s, finding jobs or college courses, filling in application forms, coping with work situations and other skills needed.

World of work also work closely with “The Work it out Programme” which is a South Lanarkshire Initiative set up to support young people in their last year of school and the first 2 years of their next destination, whether it be work or college.
