The John Muir Award is used with pupils in S4 to help foster an appreciation of the natural environment within the school grounds and local community.  Participation in the award also provides opportunities to work with others through being involved in practical environmental improvement tasks.  In addition to the benefits to general health and wellbeing gained through participating in the award, an important part of the course includes facilitating the development of transferable skills for learning, life and work.
